A slice of bread...a slice of saving lives

So I was in the mood for a sandwich. I reached for the lunch meat, lettuce, tomato, and the bread. My Stroehmann Dutch Country bread that my roommates and I had purchased was supporting something close to my heart, the cure for Breast Cancer. Stroehmann had teamed up with the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation. On the bread bag it says:
"Help us create a future without Breast Cancer. For every purchase of Dutch Country Family Grains or Dutch Country 100% whole wheat breads, a donation will be made by Stroehmann Bakeries to the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation at a minimum of $25,000 during the promotional event."

My grandmother always said that whole grains would do you good...she didn't say it would do lots of people good though!!

Melissa Etheridge: Survivor

In talking about Breast Cancer on Oprah:(video available)

"I think our whole life and our life force is like a river … and sometimes there is an obstacle, and you can either choose to hit it and go back, or you can figure out how to go around it and go on down to the rest of the life."
— Melissa Etheridge
